"We arrive like water and like the wind we go." O. Khayyam

Where do we go?

Does the spirit disperse, rejoin
and recycle into the universe?

Like wind against a cottonwood tree

d i s p e r s e
like water in a glass

set inside the sea

r e j o i n
water inside and outside

becoming one.

Rise me
from depths
to crest at sea
i n h a l e
a n d
e x h a l e
to swim
the distance

Hollow me
like a flute
carved for life breath
let music
play through me
w i t h o u t
resistance

One day
I too
will go
disperse like wind
against a cottonwood tree
water and seed
rejoining the sea.
